ESCA, the Environmental and Social Consultative Association, is an NGO founded by young professionals with the over-arching goal of environmental preservation through social and environmental projects. ESCA believes that there is an undeniable connection between society and the environment. Thus, the goal of sustainable environmental change requires a change in the overall thinking of society. In pursuit of this, ESCA encourages the discussion and materialization of all ideas that can help to attain its goal.
ESCA has participated in and executed a number of projects including beach clean-ups, school science and environmental fairs, tree-planting activities, environmental teaching at children’s homes across the country and beautification projects at schools. Since 2019, it has had an ongoing mentorship program with the Wesleyan Children’s home.
ESCA’s beautification projects at schools encourage the use of discarded materials such as toilet paper rolls, corks, aluminum tins and plastic bottles to be up-cycled into a new item. By integrating agriculture, with the three R’s – reduce, reuse and recycle- ESCA hopes to groom a young environmentally-conscious generation that is equipped to transform Trinidad and Tobago into the green paradise that it can be.
ESCA, the organizational exemplar, fueled not by financial gain but by hard work and dedication toward setting an example as young leaders. We focus on environmental, agricultural and multi-sector issues within Trinidad and Tobago aiming to provide solutions on the basis of innovation and creativity.
Our mission is to encourage the growth of sound leadership qualities through effective communication and planning among colleagues and with the public. We aim to portray success without monetary drive and illustrate that truly, anything can be achieved with dedication.
